Busy bees and late admissions on first day of school

The busy bees of Muldersdrift were eager to get learning and playing.

A sense of excitement mixed with first day jitters filled the air at Laerskool Muldersdrift.

 

Many of the Grade 1s attended Gr R at the school last year and already had friends. They are ready to take on the new academic year.

The school boasts with 94 Grade 1 pupils this year, which includes a set of twin boys. The group is divided into three classes with excited teachers who can’t wait to get started with the first quarter.

A professional photographer stood ready to take the little ones’ very first school day pictures, before they were given permission to take off their shoes and join their other new friends on the athletics field for some sport.

A group of busy Grade 1s tried with all their might to cheer up one sad friend who did not enjoy the first day of school.

The News chatted to few Grade 1 pupils to hear how the first day of their school careers were going.

The girls were happy to pose for photos while the boys could not wait to take off their brand-new shoes and go and play.

Meanwhile at Lewisham Primary, there was quite a long queue as parents rushed to get a space in the school with their late admissions.

The school corridors were filled with emotional parents who said their last goodbyes on the first school day for their little ones.
