Son breaks into parent’s house

A 21-year-old was arrested after breaking into his mother's house with a friend.

A homeowner was terrified to learn that the two perpetrators who broke into her house on 4 February, was indeed her own son and his friend.

Information received from Krugersdorp police indicated that the son and his friend jumped over the wall of his mother’s house and forced open the burglar bars and broke a window to gain entry to the property.

When the mother returned home, she noticed that someone broke in and subsequently informed the police.

“We questioned the neighbour who said she recognised the one suspect as the son,” Krugersdorp Police spokesperson, Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, said.

After a case was opened, Krugersdorp Detectives managed to locate her son in Krugersdorp West where some of the stolen property was also recovered.

Among the stolen goods were a cellphone and a digital camera.

The 21-year-old will appear in court facing charges of housebreaking, theft and possession of suspected stolen property.
