Arrested for selling liquor without a license
A 48-year-old woman was arrested after police searched her house and found crates of liquor.
A routine patrol by Hekpoort police officers led them to a house where a woman sold liquor to the public without a license.
The 48-year-old woman was arrested after police searched her house and she failed to produce a liquor license on 26 February at around 11pm.
“Police were conducting a routine patrol along R560 road, where they came across a house with a large amount of people outside,” Constable Gloria Maswanganye, said.
On arrival at the property police found a group of people who were allegedly consuming liquor and playing loud music.
“It is alleged that the officer requested to search the house because he suspected that the owner might be selling liquor.”
Numerous crates and a fridge stacked with alcohol were found inside the house after police conducted a search.
The woman was later released and received a fine for the contravention of the Liquor act.
