A local ‘problem child’ and rapper’s first two tracks were downloaded over 1 000 times.

Pro Mpumelelo Ngwenya is a 22-year-old upcoming and now recording artist from Quellerie Park who turned his problems into business.

He goes by the name of Nkinga which means problem in isiZulu and was derived from feeling misunderstood by those around him.

Nkinga will be graduating later this month as he recently completed his tertiary studies in media and communication, as well as business management at Monash University South Africa.

Before fully pursuing a music career, Nkinga decided to study and obtain a degree that will help him not only in his music career, but also with a variety of career options instead of only focusing on one area.

Nkinga strongly believes that education is important, which is why he hopes to inspire other artist to also study further while pursuing their music careers.

He hopes to remove the stigma from the rap industry which is often associated with school drop-outs making it big in the music industry.

In the past Nkinga has worked with other big names in music industry who are also based in the West Rand.

These names include artists such as Kapfresh, ProMo as well as Blackrap.

The first two singles from his new project titled All On Me and Fassa Fassa were greatly received by his fans as the tracks tallied 1 000 downloads online last year.

Nkinga is currently working on his first solo ‘mix-tape’ titled The Problem Child which is set to be released later this year.
