Police need residents to claim ownership of confiscated stolen property.

Tarlton police need residents who have lost valuable items due to burglaries and theft, to approach the station and possibly identify some of their belongings.

“There has been stolen property at the station for a long time and we cannot hold on to it for much longer before we have to forfeit it to the state,” police spokesperson, Constable Lucky Matome, said.

“If some of your valuables have been stolen recently, we urge you to come and have here a look at the station,” he said.

Items like blankets and mattresses, to DVD players and plasma televisions have been confiscated.

“Bring along any sort of proof that you are the owner of the property you want to claim back and ask for Constable Felecia Zukani,” Matome added.

If you have any information related to an investigation or simply want to alert police of criminal activities in the Tarlton area, contact the station on 011 952 0012/13 or 011 952 0005/6.

You can also report it anonymously to Crime Stop Tip off line 08600 10111 or sms Crime line on 32211. Remember to mention who did what to whom, when, where, why and how.
