A 30-year-old suspect was rearrested after being spotted on the R24 road.
The suspect was allegedly previously arrested and released due to lack of evidence in an attempted murder incident.
However, he was rearrested for a house robbery incident which took place at Askari Game Lodge in October last year. The incident was investigated by Detective Constable Molokela.
During this robbery, firearms were allegedly taken from the premises.
“Forensic evidence found on the scene linked the 30-year-old male from the Hekpoort area to the case,” Hekpoort Police spokesperson, Constable Gloria Maswanganye, said.
Detective Constable Molokela and Detective Constable Seshoka searched for the suspect and eventually spotted him standing next to the R24 road.
He has already appeared in court at the end of February where he was denied bail.
“The Station Commander of Hekpoort SAPS, Captian MT Zwane applauded the members for their commitment and perseverance in tracing and arresting the man,” Maswanganye concluded.
