Police arrest perps within 24 hours

Police left no stone unturned.

Tarlton police have arrested two alleged armed suspects after they attacked a man in his home on Friday, 4 March.

The victim’s house was ransacked and his passports and money were taken.

“It is alleged that the suspects fired several shots. No injuries were reported,” said police spokesperson, Constable Lucky Matome.

The victim was apparently asleep at home in Matshelapad informal settlement when someone knocked at his door.

“When he responded to the knock he was suddenly overpowered by four unknown males, who pounced on him,” Matome said.

The two suspects in their thirties were then arrested the following day and are expected to appear in court soon.

The Station Commander of Tarlton police, Lieutenant Colonel Christina Tsoaedi, applauded the police officers for not leaving any stone unturned in securing the arrests. She also thanked the members of the community for their help with the investigation.

“Together we can achieve more,” she concluded.
