Pregnant woman hijacked in broad daylight
The woman was found unharmed but her car was emptied of her valuables.
A woman, allegedly pregnant, was hijacked at around 11am on Robert Broom Drive yesterday, 15 March.
The woman was allegedly cornered by four armed men who emerged from another vehicle close to the R28 off-ramp towards Robert Broom Drive. Her bakkie was then taken and she was left to walk to a nearby shopping centre where tenants called the police and the Sector 4 Community Policing Forum. Her car was later found, completely emptied of her valuables.
The woman is said to be unharmed.
The News has contacted police spokesperson, Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, for comment and will update its readers as soon as a statement is received.
Police are also investigating a case of attempted murder and armed robbery after a woman was attacked in Kenmare on the afternoon of 10 March. She was taken by armed suspects and later found a few streets away. An 8-year-old child was also in the vehicle, but left unharmed.
