13 years for armed robbery

Positive information by the community helped the police solve yet another case.

Muldersdrift police boasts with another successful conviction after solving an armed robbery case of 2012.

The conviction follows after a victim was attacked along a path route in Rietfontein on 2 December 2012 at around 9am.

“She was grabbed and threatened with a knife while the suspect demanded money and her cellular phones. After searching he fled with her possessions,” Warrant Officer Hitler Ngwenya explained.

Constable Dintwe Lucky Sambo swiftly reacted to this complaint and positive information was received from the public and the suspect was arrested shortly after the incident.

35-year-old Casper Dube was convicted and sentenced after the case docket was allocated to Detective Constable Mncedisi Bambiso for further investigation.

Dube was convicted and sentenced in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Courtto 13 years imprisonment and was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.

The Acting Station Commander Captain MG Singo applauded the above mentioned members for their hard work and dedication that resulted in this conviction. Captain Singo further indicated that the community of Muldersdrift will eventually be safe from any acts of criminality.
