Welcoming the new (wo)man in charge
This new leader is hoping to rid the station of its bad seed.
It is a new chapter for the Krugersdorp Police Station as they welcomed a woman as acting Station Commander.
With 29 years of serving in blue, Colonel Pinky Jojisa joined them as acting Station Commander early in February.
She has served at various stations in Soweto including Orlando, Protea , Protea Glen, Naledi and Diepkloof, and even at the Provincial Police before making Krugersdorp Police Station her new home.
Although she lives in Witpoortjie, the Krugersdorp community is completely new to her.
“This is a totally new experience for me and I am praying for wisdom from God to lead me to clean up Krugersdorp,” Jojisa said.
She is the first female in charge of the station in about 10 years, and some may say the station lacked in a woman’s touch.
Her main objective is to uplift the community by means of uplifting the officers at the station and clean the station from the inside out.
“Joining the police service is a calling. Each and every member has a purpose within the station and force,” she told the News.
This new leader is hoping to lead with possibility and positivity.
“It is possible to clean up Krugersdorp,” Jojisa believes.
