Youth brainstorm for a better generation
A group of dynamic teens got together to plan something exciting for the youth of Krugersdorp.
A group of dynamic youngsters met over the weekend to plan an exciting program for the youth of Krugersdorp.
Pi Pretorius invited a group of teenagers from different schools all over Krugersdorp to The Bethany Trust, a local orphanage, to meet and discuss the forming of a Dynamix group.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss the establishment of a support group where youngsters can share ideas, have fun and become part of the community in a positive manner.
The group of pro-active teens came up with a few ideas and rules for the planned group.
They felt that it should be a group where they could discuss social and personal issues without being judged.
Some suggested bringing younger motivators who could possible relate more to their situations and care for them.
The group will also be discussing dealing with issues such as peer pressure, drug and alcohol abuse along with how to cope.
Activities, group coffee dates and even community service were some of the proactive ideas exchanged among the youngsters.
These fulfilled and soul enriching group sessions will then take place over weekends to show the youth there is more than just hanging out in a shopping mall or night club but rather uplifting each other in alternative ways.
Pi Pretorius is inviting the youth to take hands and become part of the Dynamix group by contacting him on pi@childincrises.org.za or 084 744 2263.
