Half of club’s tour funds donated
They handed over a cheque of R5 000 as well as dog and cat food.
The Florida Water Polo Club recently had their annual fundraiser for their National Masters Water Polo Tour.
Half the funds raised went towards the tour and the other half was donated to a local charity.
One Saturday morning in April, Bjorn Buisman together with Noel Sked, Noah Sked and Rein Buisman made their way to Friends of Rescued Animals (Fora), a local shelter for animals, where they handed over a cheque of R5 000 as well as dog and cat food to Fora’s manager, Linda Scrace.
This was not the first time the club donated to an animal shelter in Krugersdorp. Last year they donated blankets, dog and cat food to the Krugersdorp SPCA as well.
Fora houses hundreds of dogs and cats, and more recently, a calf. A Brahman calf was found wandering the streets of Lewisham, dodging cars during peak traffic. The calf has been adopted since.
If you would like to get involved with Fora or for more information about their adoption process or other services contact them on 082 336 5568.
