Merc gang overwhelms domestic and robs house

The last thing the domestic worker saw was a silver Mecedes-Benz reversing into the driveway.

After days of laying low, the perps of the so-called Merc gang struck again, this time in a house robbery incident.

A family who lives in Emerald Street in Silverfields first noticed their gate was left opened yesterday morning, something which they could not explain.

However, when they arrived home earlier today, they were greeted at the gate by their hysterical domestic worker.

The home owner was informed that four suspects in a silver Mercedes-Benz AMG intruded their home in broad daylight at around 11am this morning, 19 April.

The worker was busy cleaning when the gate suddenly opened and she was approached by four male suspects, one who showed his gun.

“They loaded the gun in front of her to show that it was a real gun,” the owner said.

A suspect then grabbed her by the arm and dragged her along as they entered the home.

Two suspects immediately started disconnecting one of the TV’s while the other two started searching the house.

They then reversed the Merc into the driveway to load the two TV’s before fleeing the scene.

“She was taken to the main bedroom where she was covered with a blanket in order for the suspects to make their escape.”

Luckily the worker could provide descriptions of the suspects and claimed that three were speaking Sotho and the other one Zulu.

She said they were all well-dressed and that one of the suspects had a shirt on resembling a checkered shirt as previously reported.

Police are currently investigating the robbery.
