Two injured as vehicle rolls

A driver of a taxi as well as the owner were kicked off the road after causing an accident.

A section of Fourth Street in Krugersdorp North was closed off yesterday following an accident close to the Krugersdorp Taxi rank.

The accident followed after a red minibus taxi broke down in Fountain Street.

A bakkie rolled as the driver attempted to avoid the stationary taxi which had been standing there for quite some time.

It is believed that the driver of the bakkie tried to swerve out of the way, resulting in the bakkie rolling, injuring both the passenger and the driver.

“Both the driver and owner of the minibus were charged for failing to erect a warning triangle and because the taxi was unroadworthy,” Mogale City Traffic Department’s spokesperson, Papi Motaung, said.
