‘White Merc’ gang strikes again
Police closed down area in hunt for suspects.
The Merc gang that has been terrorising Krugersdorp residents for the past few weeks, has now made Roodepoort residents their targets as well.
Riaan van Zyl from the Roodepoort Record reports that a Wilro Park resident was robbed of almost R400 000 worth of jewellery less than an hour ago.
Four suspects in a white Mercedes-Benz ML with no registration plates followed the woman to her home in Halite Street. When she pulled into the driveway the vehicle stopped behind her and two armed suspects wearing balaclavas jumped out. When they pointed their firearms at her she panicked and started blowing the hooter. They threatened to kill her before fleeing with all the jewellery she was wearing.

It is also alleged that the same gang was involved in robberies in Silverfields earlier today and yesterday.
Police, CPFs and security companies have closed off the area surrounding the scene and have appealed to the public to contact them if the vehicle is spotted.
