Three women arrested for stealing cement

Police arrest three women who stole R40 000 worth of cement.

Kagiso police arrested three female suspects aged between 24 and 39 in Tshepisong after they were found in possession of building cement.

Sector police were following up on information regarding a business burglary on 2 May.

“During their investigations the police received another tip off which led them to a certain house in the area. On arrival at the scene the police found three suspects who confirmed they were residents of the house. The police thereafter conducted a search in and around the house where they discovered 200 bags of cement in the suspects’ yard,” Kagiso Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya said.

The bags of cement were worth R40 000 in total.

All three suspects were put under arrest and is set to appear in court in due course.

“The latest cooperation between the community of Tshepisong and the police have started to yield results, and that is good for residents of Tshepisong. We are happy that they realise the importance of taking charge of their own area. We have made good arrests through this collaboration and hope to make more progress,” Brigadier Sipho Ngubane said.
