Another police officer within the Krugersdorp Cluster has been arrested with corruption charges against his name.
A detective constable from the Tarlton Police Station was arrested on 5 May for alleged corruption.
The News contacted the Provincial Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini, for comment regarding the arrest.
“A constable was arrested, charged and has made an appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 6 May. The case is handled by the Hawks,” Dlamini said in a statement.
The News also contacted Robbie Raburabu at the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) who was not aware of the incident and referred the News to the Hawks for further details.
An urgent email was then sent to Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi who is expected to comment in due course.
It is however believed that accepting money forms part of the corruption charges against the constable in question.
