A stolen bakkie was recovered at the Manie Mulder Adventure Center minutes after it went missing from a residence in Krugersdorp North.
A be on the lookout (bolo) alert was sent out Friday afternoon, 6 May, after a Toyota Legend was stolen from a property in Hugo Street.
The owner of the vehicle called a friend for back up who also alerted various reaction units.
A car chase quickly ensued on Robert Broom Drive as members of Sector 7 and 8’s Community Policing Forum (CPF), Dowry and the Roodekrans Neighbourhood Watch gave chase.
The stolen bakkie was discovered minutes later on the adventure center’s grounds where the vehicle was nearly completely stripped.
Shortly after the police along with the K9 unit arrived on the scene to look for the suspects who fled the scene by foot.
A police helicopter was also on the scene circling the area and covering the perimeters in search of the perpetrators.
It is believed the suspects where interrupted and abandoned the vehicle on the grounds.
