A narrow escape as vehicle crash through wall

CPF patrollers could not fathom how the driver managed to crash through this wall.

The driver of a BMW had some explaining to do after he drove through a resident’s wall and nearly ended up in the house.

A loud bang last night saw patrollers of the Sector 7 Community Policing Forum (CPF) responding to a rather strange freak accident in Longford Street, Kenmare, at around 7.45pm.

CPF 7, along with paramedics from ER24 and Netcare 911 together with Mogale City Traffic Department officers, Mogale City Emergency Management, and local police were deployed to the scene in Kenmare Extension 4 where a silver BMW went through a resident’s wall and nearly ended up in their living room.

The BMW missed the living room window by a metre after crashing through the wall.

On arrival at the property, the BMW was found with its bonnet up the house’s wall, missing the living room window by nearly a metre.

It was also a narrow escape as one of the residents of the house was sitting on the couch at the window, metres away from the crash.

“Although we have absolutely no idea what caused this incident, we understand it is being investigated by the relevant authorities, and we have to thank the various local authorities that were on the scene for their extremely speedy, professional and efficient response,” Ramón Collins, for Sector 7 CPF said.
