Three men were arrested by Magaliesburg detectives for being in possession of stolen electrical devices worth R40 000, police said.
“Detective Constable Matuwane and Detective Constable Msibi arrested three men aged 29, 30 and 31 for being in possession of stolen property. The property was stolen at the Bekker School compounds. Three rooms were ransacked and electrical appliances such as a music system, cellphones and laptops were stolen,” police spokesperson, Constable Rebecca Phithi said.
The investigating officers tracked down one of the stolen cellphones, with help from the cellphone’s owner, in Rustenburg. The officers were informed of another suspect who was in possession of the rest of the stolen goods.
All three suspects already appeared in the Magaliesburg Magistrates’ Court and are still in custody.
The Magaliesburg Station Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Joyce Julla, applauded the members for going the extra mile to track down the stolen goods.
“The fact that the members even went out of the provincial boarders to track down the suspects is a clear sign of their commitment,” she said.
