Innocent bystander knocked over
'He came speeding down the road at a hell of a speed.'
A pedestrian has been rushed to hospital after being knocked over on the corner of Buiten and Van Riebeeck Streets, Krugersdorp North, when a minibus taxi collided with a Toyota Yaris.
The scene was a mess of police and emergency first-aid responders worked hard to stabilise those injured in the crash and obtain a factual report of what exactly happened.

An eyewitness told the News the taxi tried to overtake the Yaris while speeding down Van Ribeeck Street. It hit the back of the Yaris, which was being driven by a Town View High School pupil.
The Yaris in turn spun out, and crashed into a young girl who was walking on the pavement. A second bystander added to this, saying that the taxi came speeding down the road at “a hell of a speed and almost looked like a airplane flying passed”.

The girl was allegedly bleeding from her stomach, and was rushed to hospital. The Yaris driver has also been taken to hospital.
The News is still awaiting the official report, and will follow up once more information has become available.
