Eikenhof pump station power outage threatens Mogale water supply
It will take about six hours for pumping capacity to be restored, and residents are urged to use water sparingly.
Mogale’s Media and PR assistant manager Refilwe Mahlangu said that although power was restored at 04:45, full pumping capacity is expected to take about six hours.
“As a result, some reservoirs supplying Mogale may experience reduced water levels, which could lead to low water pressure or intermittent water supply in certain areas,” she confirmed.
Mahlangu urged residents to use water sparingly and avoid unnecessary consumption while the system recovers. She warned that excessive water use, including filling bathtubs and storage containers, could place additional strain on reservoirs and delay the recovery process.
