Truck driver has a narrow escape
When a truck driver discovered that he was being followed, he knew exactly what to do.
A Plantwise truck driver narrowly escaped a hijacking yesterday, 29 June.
The driver, who had been hijacked before, recognised the car that was following him and identified the occupants as those who had held him at gunpoint not so long ago.
He immediately notified the tracking company monitoring the truck, the police as well as his office. He parked the truck behind a taxi rank while waiting for assistance. While he was hiding, the other car continued to drive up and down looking for him.
The tracking company and the local police were notified about the situation, but they were not close by. Thankfully, Drift Reaction came to his rescue, and escorted the truck from Zandspruit to the N14 highway.
“I would like to thank Drift Reaction for their selfless actions this morning. Not only did they save my truck, they also saved the lives of my driver and other workers,” Jenneth Prinsloo from Plantwise said.
