[WATCH] Dustbin thief caught on camera
A suspect was caught on CCTV camera casually stealing a dustbin.
A frustrated Donovan Putter took to social media after his dustbin was stolen in broad daylight last week.
CCTV footage of his gate shows a suspect approaching his empty dustbin just before 5pm on 29 June.
The suspect is then seen casually walking off with the dustbin.
The stolen dustbin is not Putter’s only frustration since getting it replaced is even more of a headache because he is expected to carry the costs.
On his Facebook post of the CCTV footage on a community page, residents posted various comments which varied from advice to other complaints.
Putter indicated that a new dustbin’s costs would be added to his water and electricity account by Mogale City Local Municipality.
“They refuse to replace it for free,” one of his comments read.
Other comments suggest this is not an isolated incident and one resident claims her daughter’s dustbin has been stolen a total of three times.
Putter told the News the reason he posted the CCTV footage is because many dustbins are being stolen in Krugersdorp.
“This must come to an end,” he said to the News.
