Alleged go-slow at Yusuf Dadoo

According to eyewitness, nurses at Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital are not attending to patients.

There is an alleged strike currently taking place at Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital in Krugersdorp.

The News received tip-offs from several members of the community who had visited the hospital in the past two days.

According to eyewitnesses, doctors and nurses have not reported for duty the past two days and the management of the hospital is also not available.

Monica Daka said she went to the hospital yesterday ( 13 July) and had to go back again today because patients were standing in queues without getting any assistance from the staff. Monica took her 62-year-old mother to the hospital for a monthly treatment.

“The nurses would not let us, They said they are tired of attending to patients because doctors are not there. Yesterday only two doctors showed up,” she told the News.

Reasons for the alleged strike remain unclear. The News is waiting for official comment from the Gauteng Department of Health spokesperson Steve Mabona as well as the hospital.

An update will follow as the story unfolds.
