This week’s Golden Oldie in the Cars of Krugersdorp series is a 1957 Wolseley 1500, which belongs to Edgar Linton-Walls.
Edgar bought the Wolseley five years ago, and has completely restored the car, which was originally grey in colour. According to Edgar, the car runs like a dream, and has already participated in the annual KwaZulu-Natal Meander vintage car show – twice!
Some interesting facts:
• The car can reach a top speed of 125km/h
• The car was based on the Morris Minor
• The car has a four-cylinder engine and a four-speed manual gearbox
• In its heyday, the Wolseley was incredibly popular in South Africa
