Three nabbed for stealing a motorcycle
A woman and two men were arrested after a motorcycle was stolen in Randfontein.
Three suspects thought they were going to get away with stealing a motorcycle, but a local detective had a surprise in store for them.
“It it alleged the suspects lifted the gate off its rails to gain entry to the complainant’s property in Greenhills, when they stole the motorcycle,” Krugersdorp Police spokesperson, Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale said.
With the help of social media, a person who recently unknowingly purchased the stolen motorcycle made contact with the complainant, who then contacted the police.
The two men and a woman were subsequently arrested by detective Warrant Officer Venter on the afternoon of 20 July. One of them was also arrested for fraud as he had used fraudulent documents to sell the bike.
All three suspects will appear in court soon, facing charges of theft and fraud.
“Krugersdorp Police appeal to the community not to buy stolen property. We all need to play a role in fighting crime.”
