A number of operations conducted by members of the police within the West Rand Police Cluster last week resulted in a total of 281 arrests being made.
One of the operations, led by Kagiso Police station commander, Brigadier Sipho Ngubane in conjuction with Social Crime Prevention, Communication and Crime Prevention members saw a number of suspects arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms, dagga and illicit cigarettes.
Other crimes which landed suspects behind bars ranged from murder, rape, theft, burglaries and shoplifting, to malicious damage to property, contempt of court, robbery, assault and fraud.
“The Cluster Commander of West Rand Cluster, Major General Anna Mateisi, applauded the officers who left no stone unturned in bringing those responsible to book,” said West Rand Police Cluster spokesperson, Constable Gloria Maswanganye.
