“We will finish the job”
The company involved in the pending DStv installation at the WRAPD shares its side of the story.
Following on from our article, headlined Donation stolen from WRAPD (Friday, 12 August) the company involved contacted the News to share its side of the story.
According to the source, who did not want his identity published, the installation is 90 per cent complete; they are just waiting for five OVHD decoders, which are presently out of stock. They have struggled in vain to source the decoders.
As for the money that went missing, the person who allegedly stole it was fired immediately. The company then decided to continue the installation at their own cost, because it was the right thing to do.
The company has also been in touch with the parent who made the donation to the West Rand Association for People with Disabilities (WRAPD) every step of the way.
“We have not left them. We will not leave them,” said the source.
The News contacted Annalene Rossouw of the WRAPD to confirm the source’s information, but she has yet to reply.
