They breathe new life into your unwanted clothes
Various charity organisations have done their part in keeping Krugersdorp warm this winter, and it's not too late for you to do your part.
There have been many occasions to donate your old unwanted clothes and blankets this winter – from Mandela Day initiatives to blanket drives.
But it’s not too late for you to do your part for the community.
Think twice before throwing away your torn blankets or clothing that no longer fit. If it is still in good condition, or needs minor repairs, it may be of use to someone else.
If you have been looking for a reason to spring clean your cupboards, now you have one. Every bit makes a difference.
Donations can be dropped off at the following places:
• Churches – Most churches collect clothing for those less fortunate, the NG church in Krugersdorp being one of them
• Charity organisations – Hope for the Future is a charity that takes in torn and unwanted clothing
• Children’s homes – The Bethany House Trust and Baby Moses Sanctuary are some of the homes in the area
• The Salvation Army
• Animal shelters – Friends of Rescued Animals (Fora), SPCA and The 9th Day Animal Shelter could all use your old blankets to the animals warm
• Charity shops – Fora, Hospice and The Krugersdorp Council for the Care of the Aged (KCCA) all have charity shops in Krugersdorp
• Krugersdorp Department of Social Development
