St Ursula’s welcomes new principal
Dr Dean Verwey has accepted the post of principal at St Ursula's from January 2017.
Dr Dean Verwey, who was born and raised in Krugersdorp, has accepted the post of principal of St Ursula’s School from January 2017.
Dr Verwey says that he is excited at the prospect of taking the school to the next level, and is ready to serve the community through St Ursula’s. He extends an invitation to the Krugersdorp community to visit the school. He has an open door policy and will always make time for the people of the West Rand.
He says that he is absolutely committed to the ethos of the school and believes that St Ursula’s is an excellent institution for the holistic development of any child. He wants to build on the excellence of the school and will continue to uphold the principles of social justice, human dignity, equality, high expectations, respect, rule of law and reconciliation. He also embraces the idea of Ubuntu, because of his Christian beliefs and total commitment to education, as a means of transformation of the local community and nation building.
St Ursula’s has had a 100 per cent matric pass rate for the past 23 years, and caters for both boys and girls from Grade 00 to Grade 12.
