KHS’ art pupils once again lived up to their reputation as a large number of their art works were exhibited at the annual exhibition in Sasolburg.

Young budding artist Tiisetso Banda (Grade 9) exhibited a self-portrait, in pencil, and walked away with a R500 prize for herself and the school. The pen drawing of Tshego Mathlhako, which invokes a sense of curiosity, was awarded a R500 prize. Chené Strauss’ oil painting, the Old Couple, was selected top in the category for oil paint, while in the lino print category Alizay Imran’s creation came first.

The reflections mixed media (oil) painting done by Melissa Kock (Grade 12) also achieved a first place in this category and she was awarded R500, while the vibrant craft paint-and-pencil drawing of Amogelang Man`tjane in Grade 12 was also named top in this category.
