Luxury vehicle seized from jobless man
It was discovered the man was unemployed and could not afford to pay for the expensive luxury vehicle.
A man was arrested on Friday, 7 October after Kagiso Police seized a luxury vehicle which he had neglected to pay for.
It is alleged the man used fake payslips to apply for a loan at Wesbank in May 2015. His application was approved.
He bought a brand new Volkswagen Beetle 2015 model, to the value of R407 224.
He then neglected to pay the mandatory installments, and the bank opened a fraud case against him. Intense investigation led Kagiso Police to his home in Kagiso.
It was discovered the man was unemployed and could not possibly afford to pay for the expensive luxury vehicle.
This is allegedly not the only vehicle he has bought in this manner. Police are investigating the case of another vehicle that was bought in August 2016 in Newcastle and also never paid for.
The police are continuing with the investigation, trying to trace the second vehicle.
The suspect will appear in court soon.
