Suspect wearing police jacket hijacks man

Krugersdorp Police are on the lookout for a white Isuzu bakkie with the registration number BZ 55 SL GP after suspects travelling in this vehicle hijacked a 54-year-old victim.
It is alleged the victim was travelling in his bakkie when he was pulled over by an unmarked white Volkswagen Polo Vivo fitted with blue lights.
A suspect, allegedly wearing a police reflector jacket, approached the victim and pointed at him with a firearm. The suspect allegedly forced the man back into his vehicle and got in as well.
The suspect forced the victim to drive to Protea Glen, Johannesburg. The suspect dropped the victim off and made an escape with the victim’s vehicle.
The victim was transporting bubble-wrapped plastics.
Krugersdorp Police issued a warning stating that community members should report it to local police if they suspect foul play after an unmarked vehicle pulls them over.
“Police performing duties will be in a marked police vehicle,” Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, the Krugersdorp Police spokesperson said.
“In situations like this one, community members should contact police if they suspect bogus officers.”
