Police have some faith
Pastors and bishops organised prayer chains for the community and focused on combating serious crimes such as murders, hijackings and house robberies.
While the rest of the world is going crazy about pastors using Doom to solve their problems, the West Rand Cluster’s police decided to use more traditional ways to solve theirs.
On Thursday, 24 November, the Krugersdorp police held a prayer service to aid in combating crime in the area. Pastors and bishops organised prayer chains for the community and focused on combating serious crimes such as murders, hijackings and house robberies. The service was graced by music from a live band lead by Chaplain Fourie.

Some attendees even prayed for other crimes, such as assaults and domestic violence. The officers also prayed that the community and police remain safe throughout the festive season.
The event was part of the upcoming 16 Days of Activism against Women and Child Abuse.
Mover Maluleke, Chaplain of a Krugersdorp congregation, encouraged all police stations to follow in the footsteps of the Krugersdorp station and invite pastors or bishops to pray for them in a similar fashion.

Brigadier Baloyi, the Krugersdorp Police’s station commander, said he was proud to have the pastors at the police station and pleased to host the event. “We encourage members to have faith while conducting their duties and to serve with dignity and pride,” Baloyi said.
