Brand new faces arrived at Avianto Maragon on 11 January, ready for Grade 1.
The children all came running into the classroom, wanting to know where they could find their station. Their parents could not be prouder of their little ones and could not wait to share the special moment.

“I am surprised I have not cried yet,” said a proud parent named Senzeni Machogo, whose first child has just started school.
The teacher, Roxanne Barnard, was just as excited to see all the new faces. “I am so excited to see what the new year will bring,” she said.
The school is constantly growing, with rapid growth expected in the not so distant future. This year they welcomed 21 Grade 1s, some of whom were familiar faces from the preschool.

“I like school and I feel very happy when I am at school,” said learner Siphokazi Simamane.
The principal, Monica de Beer, welcomed each learner and parent with open arms and wished them good luck for the new school year.
