Identities of motorcycle crash deceased

Dries and Linda's funerals will both take place on Friday, 10 February.

The identities of the two victims who died in a motorcycle crash on Saturday, 4 February, have been made public.

Dries Fourie, was on his motorcycle with Linda Henning riding pillion when they collided with a truck at the intersection of Munsie Avenue and Commissioner Street in Burgershoop.

They were declared dead by paramedics soon after the crash.

Gerda Britz, Linda’s sister, described her as a bubbly person who had raised her three children with a lot of love.

“She was always positive, hardworking and lived life to the fullest,” Gerda said. “We miss her and her warmheartedness already.”

Dries’ family also wished Linda’s family strength through this difficult time and hopes that they too will find peace.

Dean Fourie, one of Dries’s children, said his father made an impact on many people’s lives. “He was such a social and loving dad,” Dean said. “You could always depend on him to be there when you needed him.”

Dean said his family already misses Dries very much and that they will forever remember him.

Their funerals will both take place tomorrow, 10 February.

Linda’s funeral will take place at NG Church Constantiakruin at 11am, while Dries’s funeral will take place at the West Rand Bikers Church in Dan Pienaarville at 2pm.
