The Kagiso police are on a manhunt for two suspects who allegedly raped a victim after she was promised employment.

On Wednesday, 22 February at about 4pm, the complainant met the suspect at the agreed spot. The suspect allegedly promised to take her to an employer. He told the complainant that his car was in for repairs at a mechanic’s shop and suggested that they use a taxi to get to Roodepoort. The complainant boarded the taxi, which drove off. She allegedly only realised much later that they were actually driving in Tshepisong. They arrived at a certain house where they found two unknown men. When these men refused to employ the complainant, the suspects promised to escort her back to the taxi rank. While walking through an open field on their way to the taxi rank, one of the suspects allegedly became aggressive and ordered her to undress. Afraid for her life, the complainant complied and the suspect took pictures of her once she was naked. He then proceeded to rape her. His accomplice refused to rape her, so the alleged rapist took the complainant’s smart tablet and fled the scene.

The complainant reported the crime to the police and assisted them to compile identikits of the suspects.

The police are now looking for both the suspects and appeal to members of the community to provide any information that could assist them to arrest the suspects. They can be reached on 011 696 9059/ 9065/ 9068. Alternatively, the public can call Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
