Virgil James, the spokesperson for City Power, said that there is electricity at the station, but not enough to power the pumps that move water from Rand Water to the reservoir in Noordheuwel.
“The technicians are currently working on restoring optimum power, however I cannot say exactly at what time water will be restored,” said Virgil.
City Power has located the troublesome cable that caused the station to explode and replaced it. Virgil estimated the time for optimal power supply to be about 2pm today.

Virgil added that the power being restored doesn’t necessarily mean that the water will be flowing as soon as the power is back on because the reservoirs will take some time to fill up.
