Off-duty paramedic finds dead driver next to N14

The paramedic was on her way to work when she noticed a vehicle on the side of the road.

A 46-year-old man lost his life on the N14 near Nooitgedacht on Sunday, 21 May after he was apparently ejected from his vehicle during a collision.

At about 5.30am, a female ER24 paramedic found the vehicle on the side of the road. The woman, who was on her way to work, pulled over to see if she could help anyone and called for assistance immediately.

A security vehicle and a police vehicle pulled over shortly after and approached her to assist.

Upon investigating the scene, they found a man, believed to be the driver of the vehicle, lying in the grass next to the highway. They believe he was ejected from the vehicle. He had fatal injuries and he was declared dead on scene.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known.
