13 injured as taxi smashes into tree

It's believed the taxi's brakes failed.

A taxi collided with a tree before 8amthis morning, leaving at least 13 commuters injured.

The collision happened at the corner of Commissioner and Boshoff Streets in Krugersdorp’s CBD. It’s believed the taxi’s brakes failed causing the driver to lose control and smash into the tree.

Various emergency service personnel were on scene to assist the injured.

The medical status of the passengers was unknown at that time. The News will follow up as soon as more information becomes available.
