Police pull in another 384 criminals

West Rand Cluster commander, Major General Anna Mateisi, applauded the members for the level of professionalism shown.

During the period from 26 June to 2 July, the West Rand police secured a fine total of 384 arrests.

According to Lucky Matome, the West Rand Cluster Police’s spokesperson, these arrests were secured by dedicated members who wear their uniforms with pride while serving the community. The successes were achieved through various crime prevention and intelligence-driven operations throughout the region.

The crimes that put suspects behind bars included murder, armed robbery, business robbery, hijacking, drunk driving, sexual offences, rape, housebreaking and theft, possession of drugs, including dagga, theft, possession of suspected and definite stolen goods, defeating the ends of justice, reckless and negligent driving, illegal mining, fraud, possession of gold-bearing material, drunk and disorderly behaviour, and undocumented persons.

The West Rand Cluster commander, Major General Anna Mateisi, applauded the members for the level of professionalism that is displayed by both visible policing and the detectives.

She also indicated that the partnership between the police and the community is of paramount importance and encourages members to be the ambassadors of the organisation.
