Four year old wears crown of hope

During the month of September, Marunique paid a visit to the pre-school with some boerewors rolls, chips and sweets and aims to pay a similar visit before the end of the month.

A local four-year-old by the name of Marunique Meyer recently took the pageant world by storm when she managed to accumulate an astounding total of 25 titles within the period of only a year and a half.

According to Marunique’s mother, Mariska, she entered the pageant world via a modelling school at the age of three, and never looked back. Since then she has won titles such as Toddler of the World, Little Miss Earth, Little Princess of South Africa, Top Model South Africa and Little Miss Johannesburg, among many others.

She is also currently one of the finalists for the first ever Princess with a Purpose International which requires contestants to host a fundraising event for their chosen charity.

Marunique made the decision to support Cradle – Tjokkertjies vir Jesus and aims to go the extra mile by doing more than expected.

“She is at an ideal age to be taught these things – to help those that are less privileged than herself. We want to raise her with a good heart and teach her that when someone is in need, she should help them,” Mariska explained.

During the month of September, Marunique paid a visit to the pre-school with some boerewors rolls, chips and sweets and aims to pay a similar visit before the end of the month. In October she will be hosting the big fundraising event as well as delivering some food parcels. They would also like to host a Christmas party at the pre-school at the end of the year.

For the fundraising event, Marunique and her mother will be hosting a Mr, Miss and Mrs Cradle pageant where the entry fee can range from non-perishable foods to any clothes and stationery.

Even though the crowning for Princess with a Purpose will be held in Centurion on 27 January next year, this four-year-old still wishes to help out Tjokkertjies vir Jesus on a regular basis afterwards.
