Welcome to the cutest, tiniest human beings
Have a look at the newest (and most adorable) members of the world – New Year's Day babies.
Krugersdorp has been blessed with nearly 30 new miniature citizens all born on New Year’s Day. Each of the babies’ parents have unique stories to tell.
Botha and Lucinda du Plessis’ fourth child, a healthy baby girl, was born in Netcare Krugersdorp Hospital even though they reside in Thabazimbi. The Du Plessis couple drove to Krugersdorp so that their daughter could be born in the town her father grew up in.
Botha went to Laerskool Krugersdorp-Noord and then to Hoër Tegniese Skool N Diederichs Technical School and has always loved the town.
They now have two daughters and two sons.
“She’s going to be a little farmer, just like her father,” said Botha. Lucinda added by saying she’s going to be Miss Universe.
“Okay, she’s going to be a farmer who wins the Miss Universe title,” said Botha.
In another room, Jo-Anne Ferreira laid next to her newborn baby boy – Janko.
He weighed 3,4kg and is very healthy. Jo-Anne liked the name and chose it for their son, only later realising that it’s a combination of her and her husband’s names.
“I also searched the meaning of the name and it means ‘God is gracious’ which made the name even more special as we struggled somewhat to get pregnant,” said Jo-Anne.
Jacob and Chrystelle van der Linde came from Fochville to give birth to their baby boy Wiaan. He weighed 3,8kg.
Netcare Pinehaven Hospital welcomed their first-ever New Year’s Day baby this year. The name of the healthy baby boy who weighed 2,7kg is Bokang Kagiso Matshudi.
Neo Motshudi, the baby’s grandmother, oozed with pride as she held the perfect baby boy.
At Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital, nine babies were born on New Year’s Day.
