School’s finally out for these matrics

Well done, matrics.

The Class of 2017 can finally say school’s over and done with after receiving their matric results on Friday, 5 January. High school halls across town were a sight for sore eyes – high, hollow ceilings echoed the laughter of those who passed, and the gasps and cries of those who maybe did not do that well.

Moms wept, father praised their children and thrilled teachers stood and watched as their year’s work paid off.

Angel Phalane and Talitha Malcolm, two post-matric learners of Krugersdorp High School were overjoyed with their results, achieving six distinctions each, but agreed that they could have had seven if the English paper was not as difficult as it was. Well done, everyone.
