Rescue the wolves
Apollo cried every single night for days on end and eventually Nordic Rescue came to help.
They’re misunderstood, abused and abandoned. They’re chained up, kicked and underfed, even though they’ve never done anything wrong.
These are the ‘tails’ of huskies – the wolf-dogs with hearts of gold that are bound by chains.

However, there are those who choose to save the voiceless, the mistreated and the misunderstood – Nordic Rescue – a team of rescuers who have devoted their lives to saving huskies.
Elke de Bruin, Merie Smit and Merie Gresse have rescued countless numbers of these super fluffy dogs and every single one of them has a unique story to tell. Like Mika, who was brought in by a woman from Randfontein after she was found wandering the streets. Or a woman who heard Apollo crying every single night for days on end and eventually called Nordic Rescue. He had lived with people who only fed him, never petted him and left him alone for long periods at a time. He lay in the mud crying, and they saved him. To this day, he eats his food as if he has never eaten before.

“We depend on a lot of help from the public and hope that they will hear our calls,” said Leana. “Even if you can’t adopt one, donations are always a great help for these kids.”
