Kagiso reservoirs run critically low after power outage
The Kagiso Reservoir is only 8% full, while the Extension Reservoir stands at 6% following a power failure at Eikenhof.
Numerous Kagiso reservoirs are experiencing critically low water levels following a power failure at the Eikenhof Booster Station, which supplies these reservoirs.
According to Mogale City Local Municipality’s (MCLM) assistant manager for media and PR, Refilwe Mahlangu, the power failure occurred on Monday night, September 7, temporarily halting pumping operations.
“Although power was restored early this morning and pumping has resumed, the outage had a severe impact on Kagiso’s system,” she explained.
