Tarlton police rid the area of illegal booze
Proactive crime prevention is another form of detecting possible threats, which are dealt with before the actual crime is committed.
Police officers in Tarlton have taken a stand against alcohol and crimes related to alcohol.
They recently saw a spike in alcohol-related incidents and closed down three illegal shebeens in the area.
“Members of the Tarlton policing precinct were out and about enforcing the law in the area,” said Constable Lucky Matome, spokesperson for Tarlton Police.
“Proactive crime prevention is another form of detecting possible threats which are dealt with before the actual crime is committed. The area also had a challenge regarding contact crimes which mostly emanate from alcohol-related incidents.”

The members arrested 16 suspects for crimes ranging from theft and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to domestic violence-related assaults. Minor offences such as trespassing were also policed.
The suspects are expected to appear before court soon.
