"The municipality views all of these matters in a very serious light."
On Friday, 6 April Mogale City’s Municipal Manager, Maanda Pringle Raedani, released a statement to all prepaid water consumers after communicating through previous monthly statements and the Mogale City Local Municipality website.

In the statement he said the municipality has appointed a new service provider for vending of prepaid water and that April would be the first month this service provider is operating independently.
However, the following challenges were soon noted:
• Free 6kl of water not being issued with first purchases for some clients
• Some meter numbers not being loaded onto the system
• Prepaid water vouchers reflecting electricity details instead of water
• Insufficient active outlets for buying water
“The municipality views all of these matters in a very serious light and has put the service provider on terms to deliver per their appointment,” he said.
In the meantime, consumers experiencing problems with purchasing of water can contact the municipality’s call centre on 086 166 4253 (during office hours) and 011 010 1500 (after office hours). They can also visit any of the Municipal Revenue offices for assistance.
“Our Revenue Offices, including satellite offices, will be operating for extended hours during this week in order to assist our consumers with purchasing water,” Raedani concluded.
