Kagiso man stabs girlfriend to death

The couple who was arguing both drew knives and started to stab each other.

A 35-year-old man was arrested on Thursday, 5 April after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to death at their residence.

The woman was 23 years old.

Captain Solomon Sibiya, spokesperson for Kagiso Police reported that their sector police members were patrolling in the area at about 2.30am when they received a complaint of serious domestic violence. The claim was that two live-in lovers were fighting, using knives as weapons.

“The members rushed to the address where a tenant in the yard led them to the shack at the back of the property,” said Sibiya.

“When they entered they found the body of the women in a pool of blood. She had sustained multiple stab wounds to the upper body and head.”

The witness informed the police that a heated argument ensued between the suspect and the woman. Both drew knives and stabbed each other repeatedly.

Paramedics on the scene certified the woman dead and the suspect (boyfriend) was arrested a few minutes later. He was detained at the Kagiso Police Station where a case docket of murder was opened against him.

The suspect is expected to appear briefly in court soon.
